The affiliation with Goa University assures that students will have an opportunity to participate in research and other academic programs in Goa. It also adds credibility to the degree and awarded by V.M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education. Goa University is widely recognized by employers and other educational institutes across the country and around the world.
VMSIIHE has tied up with Turismo de Portugal for “Collaborative International Training and Education program”. The program will focus on specialized training for students and mentoring for teachers. The institute will identify the faculty member/s to provide mentorship for each student group involved in this professional interchange experience. The specialized program is of 4 weeks duration which will involve organizing work practicum lessons, cultural field trips, and visits to companies in the tourism sector. They will facilitate student accommodation during their stay. Upon successful completion of the period of training, the students/teachers are issued a Certificate of Training by the respective institutions.
The objective is to increase the interaction between teachers and students and thus increase the cooperation as well as to promote the professional knowledge and cultural integration in the fields of hospitality and tourism between Portugal and India.
V. M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the prestigious César Ritz Colleges Switzerland.
The MOU allows students of VMSIIHE who have successfully completed the Bachelors programme to progress towards higher studies in Master of Arts Hospitality and Tourism Entrepreneurship, a Master of Arts in Culinary Business Management and a Swiss Grand Diploma in Pastry and Chocolate Arts.
The collaborative efforts will also see faculty exchange in the field of training, teaching-learning methods, symposiums and other aspects in the near future. This also includes Masterclasses delivered by faculty experts online or on- campus whether in India or Switzerland.
V. M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE), has partnered with Martinhal Family Hotels and Resorts a Portugal based hospitality brand, to provide internship opportunities to students of the institute.The protocol aims to provide and increase the interaction between hotel industry experts and the institute.
Having four luxurious properties, two each in Algarve and Lisbon, the institute has signed an agreement with the group which is mutually beneficial. The students are provided with accommodation, meals, laundry facilities, and on-the-job training along with a stipend.
This international exposure gives students a better understanding about global work culture. They get a chance to bring in new ideas, positive energy, freshness in the team they work with, and chances of enhancing their professional career.
