Admission Process for International Students
Admissions of international students are processed through the Study in India (SII) Portal of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and are subject to eligibility verification and approval by Goa University.
International Students seeking admission in VMSIIHE, Goa-India, will have to comply with the following procedure:-
Step 1: Register on the Study in India (SII) Portal
All international applicants must register on the Government of India’s Study in India portal:
Upon successful registration, applicants will receive a unique SII ID, which is mandatory for admission and visa-related formalities.
Step 2: Apply for a Programme at VMSIIHE
After obtaining the SII ID, applicants may select V. M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE) and apply online for their chosen programme through the SII portal.
Applicants should upload all required academic and supporting documents as specified on the portal.
Step 3: Eligibility Verification
Applications received through the SII portal are reviewed by Goa University to determine eligibility for admission. This process may include:
Verification of academic qualifications and transcripts.
Assessment of the equivalence of foreign qualifications.
Confirmation that the applicant meets the prescribed eligibility requirements for the selected programme.
Step 4: Offer of Admission
Eligible applicants will receive an Offer of Admission through the Study in India portal. Applicants are required to confirm their acceptance within the stipulated timeframe.
Step 5: Student Visa
Upon confirmation of admission, applicants may apply for a Student Visa at the nearest Indian Embassy or High Commission.
The following documents are generally required:
SII ID
Offer/Admission Letter issued through the SII portal
Valid Passport
Any additional documents prescribed by the Indian Mission concerned

Step 6: Arrival and Registration
International students are required to report to VMSIIHE on the date specified in their admission letter and complete the Institute’s registration formalities, including verification of original documents, passport, visa, and other relevant records.
Once the student arrives in Goa, the student has to be registered with Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) Panaji, Goa within 14 days of arrival and complete the requisite formality.
International students holding a Student Visa valid for more than 180 days are required to register with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) / Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) within 14 days of their arrival in India, in accordance with the regulations of the Government of India.

Students are advised to keep ready the following documents for registration purposes:
Valid Passport
Valid Student Visa
Admission/Bonafide Certificate issued by VMSIIHE
Proof of Residence/Accommodation
Passport-size Photographs
Any additional documents required by the FRRO/FRO authorities
The Admissions Office of VMSIIHE will provide guidance to international students regarding FRRO registration and compliance with applicable immigration regulations after their arrival in Goa.

Admission of international students to programmes offered at VMSIIHE is subject to the eligibility requirements prescribed by Goa University and the Government of India from time to time.
Applicants may be required to submit the following documents for verification and determination of eligibility:
Valid Passport
Valid Student Visa (where applicable)
Secondary/Higher Secondary School Certificates or equivalent qualifications
Academic Transcripts and Mark Sheets
Proof of English Language Proficiency, where required
Any additional documents prescribed by Goa University, the Study in India (SII) Portal, or the competent authorities
Applicants may also be required to pay the prescribed eligibility, registration, or admission-related fees as notified by Goa University from time to time.
