V.M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE) is committed to maintaining a transparent, fair, and student-friendly environment. In accordance with the UGC (Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2019 and the statutes and ordinances of Goa University, the Institute has constituted a Students’ Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) to address and resolve student grievances in a timely and impartial manner.
The SGRC provides students a formal mechanism to raise concerns related to academic, administrative, examination, fees, or other institutional matters.
Procedure to be followed for submission of Grievances:
As per the UGC (Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2019, a student shall first submit his/her grievance to the VMSIIHE Students’ Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) for resolution. The Committee shall examine the grievance received and ensure that appropriate action is taken.
If a student is not satisfied with the decision of the SGRC, or if no resolution is provided within a period fifteen working days, the grievance may be escalated to the University who shall deal with the grievance as per procedure set out in Goa University Statute SA-35, as communicated in Goa University Circular dated 31.05.2023. (Attached)
If the student is still not satisfied with the decision of the University, he/she can approach the University Ombudsman of Goa University, details of which are available on the University website: https://www.unigoa.ac.in/students-corner/ombudsman.html
In case the grievance still remains unresolved, the student may register the complaint on the University Grants Commission e-Samadhaan Portal for further redressal and monitoring.
Students are advised to follow the above sequence while seeking grievance redressal.
