Bio

Ms. Vrinda V. Vaz is an Assistant Professor in French at the VM Salgaocar Institute of
International Hospitality Education. She is a PhD Scholar in French and holds a Master of
Arts (MA) in French from Goa University and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in French and English
from Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science, Autonomous- Goa. Her academic
journey has been marked by a deep passion for French language and culture, which she
brings into her teaching and research.

Since joining VMSIIHE in 2022, Ms. Vaz has been teaching both the undergraduate and
masters level courses in French language, literature, and culture. She is known for her
innovative teaching methods and her ability to engage students in meaningful ways. Prior to
her current role, she worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of French at
Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science, Autonomous, where she has taught
courses like French for Tourism, Developing Listening and Speaking Skills and Developing
Reading and Writing Skills. She has also worked at the MES Higher Secondary School,
Zuarinagar, as Grade 1 French Teacher.

Ms. Vaz’ research interests are diverse and include French & Goan literature and culture and
translation studies. Her scholarly work has been published in several prestigious journals,
including her recent research paper on “L’analyse critique de la traduction de « Le Tartuffe
ou L’Imposteur » en Konkani” has been published in a SCOPUS journal in Turkey. Another
research paper has been published in a UGC care listed journal. She is also an active
participant in international, national and academic conferences, having presented papers on
various aspects of French and Translation Studies, her most recent being at an International
Conference organized by the English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad.

Her achievements in academia have been recognized with several awards. Ms. Vaz ranked
2 nd at her Master of Arts Examination. She also received the “Star of the Year 2020” Award,
Department of French and Most Resourceful Student Award, Department of English
Parvatibai Chowgule College. She was selected to represent Goa University as one of the
presidents and jury members for LE CHOIX GONCOURT DE L’INDE at the Embassy of France
in India, Delhi in April 2022. Apart from her academic achievements, Ms. Vaz holds a Grade
8 certification in violin through The Trinity College of London.
