Bio

Merle is a passionate teacher who loves creative writing. She enjoys singing, composing poetry, and reading in her free time. Her passion for public speaking, and her love for creative writing have been key aspects of her personal and professional growth. Merle has received several awards for singing at an All-Goa level, notably securing second place in the All Goa ‘Fado’ singing competition. Her passion for the stage led her to perform as the protagonist in a semi-musical adaptation of “Pride and Prejudice.”

She graduated with degrees in her favourite subjects, English and Psychology, from Carmel College of Arts, Science, and Commerce for Women, and honed her teaching skills with a Bachelor’s in Education from Nirmala Institute of Education. A Master’s Degree in English Literature further enhanced Merle’s public speaking and presentation skills, fostering stage confidence and strong interpersonal communication abilities. Her interest in Education as a discipline led her to earn a Master’s Degree in Education from GVM’s Dr. Dada Vaidya College of Education. She is also SET qualified in English as well as in Education.
 

Professionally, Merle has a diverse teaching background, having worked at various esteemed institutions. She served as a Communication Skills Trainer and Assistant Professor of Technical Communication at Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, a Teacher of English and Geography at Don Bosco High School, a Double Part-Time Teacher of English at Fr. Agnel Multipurpose Higher Secondary School, and a Communication Skills Trainer for Indus Hospitality Services. Her hobbies include writing, singing, reading, music, gardening, compering, cooking, and acting.
