I also feel like it is an environment where you receive a lot of support from the people around you which facilitates your learning and growth. “Professionalism at its best is what I define VMSIIHE.” Right from its culture, to its work ethics & study environment. Be it curricular or co- curricular, their activities are quiet versatile.
International standards infrastructure, which didn’t make me feel far away from home coming from a rich country like Kuwait. With no hospitality background, was definitely a new challenge I was looking forward to.
The institute is set to be built on such high standards. We learnt every day to carry out ourselves like true business professionals in the industry and out in the world, and that’s what the college demanded from us. Good habits, discipline and hard work were instilled in us from the very beginning and this definitely goes a long way!
You know you are being well trained and molded all thanks to the mentor and faculties present there. Prof. Irfan Mirza, Director/Principal of the institute undoubtedly a perfectionist, who I have very high regards for, only strives for us to do our best. The rest of the Salgaocar family, also follows his footsteps in guidance and imparting knowledge. Their friendly persona helped us through the difficult days.
Chef Sebastian, Chef Sujatha, Ms. Gauri had a special spark. My gratitude and appreciation all goes towards the teaching and non-teaching faculty for their endless support during my time with the college. And for this, I cannot thank you all enough.

It has been an amazing journey, studying under hospitality professionals and especially being a part of the VMSIIHE family during the last three years. Residing within the campus as a hosteller was a good experience, considering the fact that the college has state of the art infrastructure and facilities that make it even more interesting. I truly believe that I’m ready for the hospitality industry after gaining a lot of experience not only from classes but also from curricular and co-curricular activities. When I first stepped into V.M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education campus, I knew deep within, that with the kind of infrastructure and facilities the institute offered, I would excel. My passion is “food “in terms of food preparation, plate presentation and food innovations as I always wanted to be a Chef. The classroom teaching coupled with practical sessions provided me the zeal required in nurturing my talent. The overall experience gained during professional training in a starred hotel and participation in various curricular and co-curricular activities enhanced my performance both personally and professionally. The teaching-learning experience has been great over the three years and all the credit goes to the institute, dedicated chefs, amazing faculty, great and committed administration workforce, and my fellow students.

Being a student for three years at this prestigious institute, it is evident that every product of this institute is destined for greater achievement. The faculty with their rich experience and expertise imparts knowledge to the students by using modern techniques effectively, which is an ode to the state of the art infrastructure on a six-acre campus. It is a blessing in disguise to be located in an evergreen environment, away from the hustle of the city as it provides calm surroundings for students to learn, play, and stay on the campus. All-in-all, it’s a great course, with great infrastructure, teaching faculty and staff and amazing colleagues!

What I was before joining and after passing out as a Hotel Management Graduate, are two different characters altogether. After Graduating from VMSIIHE, I joined Grand Hyatt Goa and currently am working as Guest Relation Executive. Being my first job takes a lot of challenges and responsibilities but the best thing about is the staff being very friendly, cooperative and understanding made me very comfortable in this new working environment. One of my best memories working in Grand Hyatt Goa was when this family (Mr. and Mrs. Kavale) came down from Mumbai to celebrate their daughter Saee’s 5th birthday. My first impression of the college was when I spoke to Sherlaine (an absolute professional with a humane touch), she walked me through the processes.The tour of the campus was nothing short of international standards and to add, the personalized interaction with Chef Sebastian made my son and me feel more confident with a true sense that this is the right place for him to graduate and excel. We are also thankful to Ms Edna for her thorough professionalism and patient hearing, which further eased our way to take things forward. Dropping my son to the institute was overwhelming, and I must admit, the faculty, the admin staff and the entire VMSIIHE team was there to support, guide and gave us the assurance that they will be guardians to our children during their academic journey. I am a proud mother of a first-year student and I look forward to seeing a fine gentleman graduating from this institute, VMSIIHE in India.

My sons – Naythan and Nash Afonso – are studying at the V M Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education, Manora-Raia. Both have shown keen interest in hospitality and have loved the learning process, despite the subject being completely alien to them when they started. It’s heartening to see them adapt to different aspects of hospitality and cuisine and take significant leadership initiatives. VMSIIHE has given them excellent exposure in key areas of the industry while also grooming them into valuable human resource.

My wife researched several options as to where we could send our son to college, and it always came back to VMSIIHE.
After watching the introduction video online, it seemed like a blessing !
When our son left for college he had never been on his own, it was a period of anxiety and worry for us. To trust the college to look after him, and point him in the right direction took a lot of courage. Professor Mirza and Ms. Edna Noronha who were always with us from day one, and through the initial interview done online in Kuwait till date is always a reassuring support along the way.
The beautiful campus, teaching facilities, hostel, the latest equipment and staff I would say has no match. It is truly International !
