Huge congratulations to our alumnus, Mr. Neevan Fernandes and his team (B.Sc. International Hospitality Management, Batch 2019-2022), for making it to Michelin guide in 2024! At just 22 years old, he’s already making waves in the F&B department at Little Miss India, Fairmont on the Palm, Dubai, UAE. Keeping the attention to detail and creating a very homely atmosphere by telling the true Indian story with their guest ,they strived to always maintain a very high level of hospitality helping them to carve their path towards the rest of the stars. Huge congratulations to our alumnus, His success is a testament to the world-class education, mentorship, and discipline instilled at VMSIIHE. Our alumni speak for us, through their experiences and professions.
Studying at V. M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE) from 2021 to 2024 was an enriching experience that shaped my career in hospitality. A highlight of my journey was my six-month internship at Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, where I gained hands-on industry experience and learned the importance of adaptability and service excellence. Organizing events like, theme nights and mega events, helped me develop leadership, teamwork, and time management skills, essential for the fast-paced hospitality industry. With a strong academic foundation, industry exposure, and practical skills, VMSIIHE has prepared me for a successful career in the hospitality industry. I am grateful for the knowledge and experiences that will guide me in my professional journey. I am grateful to Prof. Irfan Mirza for being an inspiration to everyone influenced by his exceptional vision. His dedication to creating an unparalleled infrastructure and elevating VM Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Management to international standards has set a benchmark in hospitality education. I also extend my gratitude to the supportive faculty and staff, whose guidance and commitment have played a crucial role in shaping aspiring professionals and transforming the industry.
I would like to thank the faculty of VMSIIHE for instilling in me the core values required to excel in the hospitality industry especially to Prof.Irfan Mirza for always being the backbone in VMSIIHE and for always guiding me in making the right choice. Apart from VMSIIHE being a mini Switzerland in Goa, it is also the right the place to kickstart your career in hospitality.
Being in the hospitality industry, it’s not always about hotels and resorts, but also about creating an unforgettable experience one has to deliver to the guest.” This is the ideology I go by. VMSIIHE has nurtured and trained me to excel in this ever growing and challenging industry. The first place you learn hospitality is at your own home, to be the best at it professionally VMSIIHE is always your second home. My immense passion for food, love for interacting with guests of different cultures worldwide and building guest relations has led to me kickstart my career as an In Room Dining Server in the Pre-opening Team of Waldorf Astoria, Kuwait by Hilton.
My intention to join VMSIIHE was to get my skills and knowledge about the hospitality industry in a much more clear direction where the teaching was done in a very significant manner, and the skills attained through the course of time in the institute have been tremendous and helpful.
