Chef Sangita Fernandes is an accomplished culinary instructor with a passion for teaching and a rich background in the culinary arts. With over 16 years of experience, she has worked in prestigious kitchens of IHCL, specializing in Continental cuisine. Chef Sangita holds a degree from Napier University, Edinburgh, and has received accolades for her innovative dishes. She has also worked with various celebrity chefs to hone her culinary skills from India and abroad.
She started her career in 2008 as a Hotel Operations Management Trainee Taj, IHCL and has worked at different ranges of hotels in IHCL from Luxury, Business and Resort.
She joined IIHM Kolkata as a Chef faculty in the year 2012 and then promoted to IAM Goa in 2014 as chef Co coordinator and Training and Placement coordinator. She was promoted as Head of the Department Culinary at IIHM GOA in the year 2018. Her last assignment was with IIHM as an Associate director Training and Placement and Head of the Department Culinary.
With the kind of Industry connection Chef Sangita focuses on hands-on learning and creativity, encouraging students to explore not only their culinary skills while emphasizing the importance of sustainability and quality ingredients but also developing a student in all aspects. Her commitment to mentoring the next generation of chefs makes them a valuable asset to our faculty team.
