Filmmaker, technology journalist, content creator, entrepreneur and owner of Cafe Rasa shares his entrepreneurial journey with students of VMSIIHE

Panaji, July 2021: As a part of the inspirational interactive sessions ‘Be Your Own Boss’, V.M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE) invited entrepreneur Navneet Prakash to share his experiences with students of the hospitality management institute.
A man who sports many hats, Navneet really has done it all. Originally a filmmaker from Mumbai, he has directed and produced documentaries, short films, web ads and digital video content for various channels and brands. He then went on to become a technology journalist for a UTV owned online magazine, after which he ventured into video blogging and content creation. Navneet eventually moved to Goa and set up the popular co-working space Cafe Rasa in Panjim.

Navneet spoke passionately about his multiple career paths, explaining to the students of the hotel management course how he went from being a filmmaker to an entrepreneur. His desire to always create something unique is what has pushed him into such varied directions. Three years ago he shifted to Goa’s capital, Panjim, from the bustling city of Mumbai.
His passion for developing something unique translated into him establishing Cafe Rasa, a vibrant co-working cafe overlooking the Mandovi river. Since its inception, Cafe Rasa has quickly become one of the more popular cafes in the city which doubles up as a creative work space for designers, photographers, filmmakers and creative individuals.

Navneet also shared the challenges and struggles he faced as an entrepreneur and how he overcame all of this in the early stages of implementing his business idea. He shared insights on how he coped with the Covid-19 pandemic and the many adjustments and changes he was forced to make. He revealed his financial strategy and how his planning has helped him to not only start his own business but sustain it even in a pandemic. At the end of the session Navneet urged the students of the hospitality management institute to always strive to create things that are meaningful, which will add value not only to their own lives but to their surroundings and the people in it as well.
Truly uplifted by the session, the students of VMSIIHE went back inspired, knowing that they can pursue their multiple passions and dabble in different fields.
