CMA (Dr) Shameem Memon

CMA Dr. Shameem Memon is an Assistant Professor of Financial Accounting with 16 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels across colleges in Maharashtra and Goa. She holds a Master’s degree in Commerce, with specialisation in Accounting and Taxation. She has qualified UGC-NET and SET and is a member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI).

She has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Accountancy from the University of Mumbai. Her doctoral research focused on Financial Literacy.

During her academic career, she has served at reputed institutions including M. S. Naik College, Ratnagiri; Gogate Jogalekar College, Ratnagiri; and Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao, where she has taught various subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Dr. Memon has actively contributed to research and academic activities. She has participated in numerous national and international seminars and conferences and has presented 12 research papers. Notably, she presented a research paper titled “Workplace Financial Education” at the India Finance Conference held at IIM Visakhapatnam. She has also published 11 research papers in various journals and conference proceedings, including UGC-approved and peer-reviewed publications.

She has considerable experience in guiding students in research projects at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She has also successfully completed a minor research project titled “Health Tourism in Goa: Challenges and Opportunities,” funded and allocated by the Research Cell of her institution.

In addition to her teaching and research responsibilities, Dr. Memon has been invited by several colleges in Goa to conduct career advancement sessions and research methodology sessions, contributing to faculty and student development.

Her academic interests include Financial Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting, Financial Literacy, Personal Financial Planning, and Research Methodology.
