Vivek Sreekumar is currently an Instructor and Subject Matter Expert of Hotel Design and Development Course for the Bachelor’s Program at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (School of Hospitality and Tourism), Calgary, Canada.

Prior to this role, he served as a member of the executive team for multiple brands within Marriott International and has successfully completed several Multimillion-dollar projects that included 2 hotel openings, 2 corporate transitions, 1 brand acquisition, and 1 hotel divestiture.

During 18 plus years in the hospitality career, Vivek has worked for 13 hotels and 9 brands within Marriott and has held a variety of roles in both hotel operations, finance, revenue management, and projects.

Some of these roles include Director of Operations, Director of Finance and Accounting, and also as Task Force Manager, Projects.

He worked with on and above property teams to update SOPs, training, tools, etc. for both the select and full-service hotels. Mr. Sreekumar is responsible for sustaining model hotels through those tools and creating the training, processes, and systems for openings, transitions, and takeovers so they meet benchmarks within specific periods of time.
